2017 British Summer Time started yesterday and clocks went forward by one hour. It was a glorious Sunday in this Yorkshire spa-town. There was wall to wall sunshine all day. Forsythia are blooming in the gardens, verges are covered with Daffodils and parts of the Stray are carpeted with white and purple Crocuses. it was a day for walking in the woods, sitting by the lake, breathing in the fresh cool air and feeling good. It was also a day for plump Orkney mussels cooked with white wine and cream, seared Aberdeen Angus sirloins bottles of gloriously fruity and fresh Alvarinhos and rich, dark Malbec from Mendoza. Soon it will be time for long days in the garden and crunchy green asparagus and sweet, sweet strawberries!
