Beautiful, still, sunny spring morning. It is very quiet. It’s Rani’s birthday. We sip coffee in bed as Rani opens her birthday cards and reads out the greetings. The telephone relays more greetings and good wishes.
In the conservatory, the oleander is flowering. We have Mung bean Kiribath and black tea for breakfast and set out on a walk in the woods. Bluebells carpet the forest floor and birds sing in the warm sunshine. At Queens Head in Kettlesing we wash down perfect home made steak & kidney pie with well kept Old Peculiar.
In the evening, we need only a couple of glasses of Roger Coulon NV and a slice or two of good smoked salmon to conclude a perfect day.
