Yangon to Colombo with Malaysia Airways

Today I took the morning flight from Yangon in Myanmar to Kuala Lumpur with Malaysia Airways. There was no problem with the flight itself but the service in economy class left a lot to be desired. The stewards were glum faced and unhelpful and the lunch served was one of the worst, no choice inflight meals I have ever had (Chicken & noodles with boiled cabbage). The white wine however was the delightful Pewsey Vale Eden Valley Riesling 2007.

The Plaza Premium Lounge in KL is fine with good food (salads, soups, boiled rice, stir-fried vegetables, chicken, sweets and fruit) and very drinkable Santa Carolina cabernet, Carlsberg on tap and a variety of quality spirits and good coffee on offer.

In economy class on the late evening flight to Colombo, the seats were cramped with the magazine pocket of the seat in front restricting effective leg room to 24 cms. It was a very uncomfortable flight.
