Kimbulawala, located near the Diyawanna Lake near Colombo , is a popular 4-km scenic gravel walking and jogging track set amidst wetlands and paddy fields. It is widely used by residents for exercise and relaxation, offering a tranquil natural environment often frequented by birdwatchers to spot species like the Blue-tailed Bee-eater.

Kimbulawala has many Sri Lankan street food stalls. Kanda Kola stalls are the most popular with early morning walkers.
Kola kanda is a traditional herbal congee or gruel made from raw rice, coconut milk and the fresh juice of medicinally valued leafy greens. The leaves may include gotukola, karapincha (curry leaves), welpenela, iramusu, hatawariya, polpala, or ranawara. It is usually served at breakfast, steaming hot, with a piece of jaggery (palm sugar) to counter the bitterness of the herbal leaves.

Kimbulawala is good place to spot birds such as storks, Purple Swamp Hens, various herons, cormorants and bee-eaters.
